Killdeer on the Milwaukee Lakefront in Milwaukee County on March 25, 2026

One of my birding stops today on the Milwaukee Lakefront gave great looks at a pair of Killdeer. They on occasion fed on things they find in the gavel and a couple of the photos captured one with what I thought was a caterpillar in the bill. I think they will be building a nest at this location soon.  I nice day with cooler temps but sunny skies at times. Images were taken on March 25, 2026.
