Praying Mantis in Waukesha County on August 28, 2024

I was surprised to find a Praying Mantis while looking through some wildflowers. It gave nice looks for enough time to get a couple of photos before letting it go. I can’t remember the last time I found one of these. It was a cloudy day some winds and temps around 78 degrees. Images were taken on August 28, 2024

They are so cool. My son ordered eggs when he was young and they hatched and he did what he had to do and put them outside. He is also the kid that has a tarantula! 😂 these photos are really nice!

Nice photos Jim, we see 1 or 2 here in Door County each summer. They blend into their environment so well that they are hard to find.

I just saw one in downtown Milwaukee!
