Sandhill Cranes eating Grubs in Waukesha County Wisconsin on October 21, 2026

I came across a pair of Sandhill Cranes probing the ground, finding grubs and eating them in Waukesha County. It was a very close up experience and they did not mind that I was present, I just sort of blended in at this location, they just went at it. It was a gorgeous day with plenty of sun and warm temps for this time of year, and no wind to mention. Images were taken on October 21, 2026.
