My first stop birding this morning was at Grant Park in Milwaukee County. It did not let me down with nice looks of two Black-bellied Plovers. They were at a distance finding things to eat when I arrived. As I watched them they took a short fight in front of me to get a couple of flight shots but then landed farther away. They are more plain this time of year as not being in breeding plumage. There has been a nice variety of shorebirds along the lake this fall migration. It was a pleasant morning out with temps around 70 degrees with some sun at times, no winds. Images were taken on September 10, 2026.
