This morning along Lake Michigan’s lakefront in Milwaukee, McKinley Beach had 3 Sanderlings, other stops were quiet. The birds moved up and down the shoreline finding things to eat as I just sat there. They needed to get some food and rest as this is just one of many stops they will make on their migration south. No people were on the beach so they had a good opportunity to try to get those things they need. It was a warm morning already at 80 degrees, a slight breeze at times felt good. Clouds and sun were on and off for the few minutes I was there. Images were taken on September 2, 2026.
