Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Lakeshore State Park in Milwaukee County Wisconsin on August 26, 2026

This morning one of my birding stops was Lakeshore State Park along the Lakefront in Milwaukee. I heard of a Buff-breasted Sandpiper being reported there so I thought I might as well check that out. I talked with a group of birders on their way out of the park and they saw the bird and pointed out where it was seen. It gave great looks in the mowed grass field while it found things to eat. It was an exciting event. Thanks to the birder who found this rare bird and got the word out. It was a calm day with some sun and pleasant temps in the morning. Images were taken on August 26, 2026.

The Buff-breasted Sandpiper, what a beautiful bird!

Looking for something to eat here…

And gets something to eat too…

It did not waste anytime moving around there area…
