I made a trip to the Milwaukee Lakefront early in the morning in search of Snowy Owls. Present was a hatch year male Snowy Owl at Lakeshore State Park. Another owl was on a pier dock at Discovery World close to Lakeshore SP. The owl at Lakeshore State Park was flushed when a couple of fishermen unknowingly scared it off coming into the area the owl was. It was a cloudy and windy morning with temps around 38 degrees. Your first bird appears to be a hatch year male, sexed by the spots on the secondary flight feathers.
Gorgeous pictures Jim.
I am incapacitated at home with a broken wing myself. How wonderful to feel part of the Snowy Owl watch with these pictures. Thank you!

Great photos. That’s so exciting. I’m hoping to get out to take photos of one. Will be my first.
Great photo’s Jim. I always enjoy your birds!
Jim – I don’t think you realize the power of your art.
You transport us to a wild place, then leave us there.
You show us that sometimes the buddha wears feathers…
A thousand thank you’s, Jim!
